A rare and beautiful stewartia, with rose-red buds that open in late June to large pink-flushed white flowers backed by a rose-red calyx. The seed pods are also deep rose red. Fall color is a deep wine-red. Mature trees develop furrowed ornamental bark. Slow to 15', best with ample soil moisture.
