A deciduous Pacific Northwest native shrub with maple-like leaves. In mid-spring the upright branches are heavy with rose-red flowers; these develop into edible gray-blue berries. Upright habit, growing unpruned to 5'. One of our finest native shrubs for the garden. Hummingbirds love the flowers.
